Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to the most common questions about Biosensitive tests, ordering, and results. If you can't find what you're looking for below, please get in touch and we'll be happy to help.
Placing an order
-
How do I know which test is right for me?
Browse our test categories (hormones, heart health, weight loss, thyroid, nutrition, sexual health) to narrow down what fits your goals. The Total Body Health Check is our most comprehensive test if you want a broad baseline. If you're not sure, the filter tool on our homepage can guide you to the best match.
-
How do at-home blood tests work?
Your kit is delivered to your door with everything you need: sterile lancet, blood collection card, alcohol wipe, plaster, instructions, and a pre-paid return envelope. Most tests use a simple finger-prick sample; some offer a nurse-collected venous draw option at additional cost. Once we receive your sample, results are back within 2–5 working days, securely via your account.
-
Can I book a nurse to take my blood sample?
Yes. For tests that need a venous blood draw, you can add a nurse visit at checkout for an additional fee. A trained phlebotomist comes to your home at a time that suits you and collects the sample directly.

What can I learn from a Biosensitive blood test?
Depending on the test you choose, you can gain insights into heart health, hormones, thyroid function, liver and kidney markers, vitamin and nutrient levels, inflammation, and metabolic health. Each result is mapped to your personal range and paired with guidance on what to do next.
-
Are the tests suitable for both men and women?
Most Biosensitive tests are suitable for both men and women. Some are gender-specific — for example our Advanced Female Hormone test and Advanced Male Hormone test — and these are clearly marked on the product page so you always know what you're ordering.
-
Do I need to fast before taking a blood test?
Only some tests need a fast before sampling — typically 8–10 hours of water-only — because certain biomarkers like glucose and lipid panels are affected by recent food. Fasting requirements (or not) are listed on each product page so you'll know ahead of ordering.
-
What if my results show something abnormal?
If a result falls outside the reference range, we flag it clearly in your report with guidance on what it could mean. For anything that needs clinical attention we recommend speaking to your GP, and you can also add a doctor review to your order for a professional interpretation of your full set of results.
-
Can I take these tests if I'm on medication or supplements?
Most medications and supplements don't interfere with blood testing, but there are a few worth flagging. High-dose biotin (vitamin B7) can skew thyroid and hormone results, so we recommend pausing biotin for 48 hours before sampling. If you're unsure whether a medication or supplement could affect your results, check with your GP or contact us before taking the test.
